Technology should support the business
not complicate it

Total BS (“Total Business Solutions”) exists to help organizations in Rochester, NY and the surrounding area make practical progress on software, websites, and day-to-day IT—without unnecessary hype or overhead.

Sean is a senior software developer and business-minded consultant. He has spent years building and integrating systems for real operational environments—not slide decks.

He is also a U.S. Army veteran with a Signal Corps background, which shaped a bias toward clear communication, disciplined execution, and dependable infrastructure thinking.

Today, Total BS is owner-operated: you get direct access to the person doing the work, honest guidance when something is not worth building, and solutions scoped to what the business can actually maintain.

Approach

Good outcomes start with understanding how work really gets done—who touches the data, where mistakes happen, and what “success” means in dollars and hours.

  • Prefer the smallest effective solution before adding complexity.
  • Explain tradeoffs in plain language—then document decisions.
  • Build for maintainability, because software has a long tail.
  • Stay candid about fit: not every business needs the same stack or cadence.

Who Total BS works best with

Owners and small teams who want a capable partner for practical problems: websites that need to earn their keep, internal tools that reduce busywork, and IT support that respects budget and capacity. I focus on hands-on, right-sized solutions—built to work, not just look good.
